Top 10 Who Would Have thought

Mikes who would have thought players. These are the players that at the begining of the year we would have never guessed they would be where they are now.
The Bad
1. Marc Bulger - Adding a Pass catching TE did not help him but you really can put the RB situation on him as well.

2. Ahman Green - He had less points then Brian Leonard wow thats un good.

3. Shaun Alexander - Yeah we know you have a hurt hand get over it you should not be this bad.

4. Vincent Jackson - Yep you are one hell of a sleeper..... WAKE UP. What a waste he is so bad they went out and traded for another WR.

5. Santana Moss - Yeah you have stunk up the joint this season.

6. Randy McMichael - Yeah you need to find another team dont you

7. Julius Peppers - I hate you

8. Bart Scott - Thanks for leading everyone on the trail that you were good and granting a high draft choice. You now are horrible and non existent in most leagues.

9. Jonathan Vilma - Yep its the system, I know he has been injured for awhile but when healthy he was not dominating anyone.

10. Dre Bly - What happened to you my man? You dont know? well hell we should not know either this guy lost the big play ability this season

The Good

1. Derrick Anderson - He was not even with the team when the first game happened. Amazing to me actually

2. Adrian Peterson - Yeah we all thought he was good but can we honestly say he would be this good?

3. Ernest Graham - Who? Exactly what happens with this guy when Caddy comes back, well if he does.

4. Ryan Grant - Yeah we all knew this guy would be good right?

5. Wes Welker - I thought he was going to be one of the most over paid players in the league when Randy came to town, I was wrong along with many others.

6. Owen Daniels - Yeah he came on a little last season but not to the point of drafting him above Shockey, Crumpler, and Heath Miller

7. Patrick Kerney - Moving to a new team and a new system usually does not bode well.

8. EJ Henderson - From a nothing to a something quickly a great steal that probably was not drafted in most leagues.

9. Barrett Ruud - Although fell off the table the past few weeks he has put up some pro bowl numbers in his first year to start.

10. Darrelle Revis - Usually corners dont put up the big numbers this kid has. Maybe he was worth the wait.

Green Bay Packers @ Dallas Cowboys

GB strolls to Dallas to play in a NFL match up of two 10-1 teams. Very interesting match up if you ask me and I am not sure I am sold on a winner because the teams are pretty equal. I am going to give my edge to the Cowboys though because of there running game. I think that Marion and Julius are going to be able to run more than Ryan Grant will tonight.

Lets break down the positions a little bit:

QB
Tony Romo -vs- Brett Favre - (=)

Interesting that both of these QB's are 1 and 2 ranked in the NFC QB wise. Romo has a 105.3 QB rating and Favre has a 101.5 QB Rating next on the list in the NFC is Jeff Garcia with a 96 QB rating. To me that is an amazing stat at this point in the season.

Here are the top QB ratings at the end of the season the last 5 years in the NFC

2006 - Drew Brees 96.2 - (Favre 72.7, Romo 95,1)
2005 - Matt Hasselbeck 98.2 - (Favre 70.9)
2004 - Daunte Culpepper 110.9 - (Favre 92.4)
2003 - Daunte Culpepper 96.4 - (Favre 90.4)
2002 - Brad Johnson 92.9 - (Favre 85.6)

Pretty amazing after looking at those stats huh?. I think both QB's are going to be able to pass in this game and think you would be wise to start either of them if you have the opportunity.

RB
Marion and Julius -vs- Ryan Grant - (DAL)
Marion and Julius seem to get it done week in and week out no matter who they are playing they are used as a committe so there stats really do not show what the run 2 of them do together. For instance the last 3 weeks the two have combined for:

Week 10 - 23 carries 82 yards

Week 11 - 23 Carries 73 yards 1 catch

Week 12 - 32 carries 167 yards 8 catches 38 yards

Now these combined numbers are not huge fantasy numbers but it does show that Dallas does do some serious running and its not just all passing like I have heard some say. With that information said I still give the running game to Dallas this week but fantasy wise I do not play either Barber or Jones and I think Dallas focus's on the Run and Grant will be off as well.

WR
TO and Clayton or whoever -vs- Driver and Jennings - (GB)

I really think Dallas shuts down the run in this game and tries to pressure Favre more than trying to cover these WR's. With that being said I think GB's guys are going to have pretty big days. Look for Favre to be spreading the ball all over the field you may even see some Offensive lineman catch a pass in this game.

TE
Jason Witten -vs- Donald Lee (DAL)

Key factor to me in this game, I think GB shuts down Owens well maybe not shut him down but at least cover him unlike last week where he was open on I think all of his catches. Look for Witten to make some huge plays and really pull out the win for the Cowboys. I do not think the Pack have anyone to cover him and I think Dallas Exposes it.

DEF
Dallas -vs- GB (DAL)

Dallas's defens is better even though GB seems to be pulling it together on the other side of the ball. I just think Dallas will be able to move the ball on the Packers defense easily.

Dallas wins this game by 10.

Remembering Sean Taylor

A young adult, a father, a fiance, and gone at the age of 24. Coming from a father of 2 this thing really hurts me as well. I just can not think or even imagine not being able to see my kids grow up. What a horrible story that a 24 year old man gets killed in his own home.

Sean spent most of his life playing the game he loved becoming one of the hardest hitters in the NFL. You do not just get a nickname like the "Meast" (half man half beast) for no reason. He started out his life in football in Pinecrest Florida playing for Gulliver Prep School, playing running back and defensive back. Sticking around home Sean decided to go to the University of Miami. He played as a true freshman and went on to become one of Miami's top safety's. He later was drafted by the Washington Redskins in 2004 in the first round pick no.5. In his first year in the NFL Sean took the starting position at free safety.

What a shame..... Yes the death of a young man and how it happened is a shame but the bigger shame to me is the news reporters bringing up his past. Yes I guess you can get an acquired image because of your past but it does not need to be brought up in a situation like this. Every story you read yesterday was about how Sean's past was bad and how he got into trouble.

Quote from Clinton Portis, Sean Taylors friend and Team Mate
Quote:
"Ever since Sean had his little girl, it was like a new Sean," Portis said. "He was always smiling, always happy, always talking about his child. It was good to see Sean walk by smiling.
Hello Mr. News reporter that should loose your job how about how he changed since the birth of his child and started to change his life around? Yeah well that would have been something you could have included in your article. Maybe not being in the news for the past months or years and to be exact the last criminal activity I found on Taylor was back in 2005. Can you just leave the past alone?

Sean leaves a family, a child and his future wife along with a lot of fans in Washington, including one that has been a valued member at NLS LadyNredskinsfan Smile girl it will be ok.. I did not know the man but after seeing him play in Miami and in the Pros I enjoyed watching him play and thought he could have become one of the best defensive backs in the NFL. I will miss watching him play much like his family and friends are going to miss his presents. Rest In Peace Sean we will miss you.

Hot Sunday

IS it? nah not really its actually kind of cold but its football season and it always seems hot around these parts. I seem to get an attitutde because all I watch is football, sports center, more football, going to football games, etc. Is it wrong? I dont really care this is who I am and what I like to do. So please leave me alone. On to some good topics.

Did you see what my gfx manager "what" made me? Check it out its the Lebron on the right yep it is sweet. Thanks man. www.nolimitsportsline.com has some great gfx. If you have not checked it out yet you should now.

I am torn between two girls now on which one I should spend most of my fantasy about at night. I am not sure if there is any hate between the two as I sleep and dream about both. You know the first one to be Biel she is posted below but since this new season of prison break has been on I may have found some competition. What are your thoughts on: Jodi Lyn O Keefe yes pictured to the left. Just not sure how I feel about this situation. Do I keep my loyalties or have both? Tuff decision.

So thats about it today if I can grace you with anything more I will and if you have not come over to NLS and see what we can do for your fantasy team.

Phillies Get Lidge

Interesting News today the Phillies went out and got a Closer in a 5 player trade with the Houston AStros. The Phillies got lidge in the deal. Lidge has went from being one of the best to one of the worst quickly but Houston has the guys in the bullpen to do this type of trade. I think it works out well for both teams.

Philadelphia Phillies have acquired CL Brad Lidge from the Houston Astros in a five-player trade.
The Astros received OF Michael Bourn, pitcher Geoff Geary and 3B Mike Costanzo. In addition to Lidge, the Phillies also acquired IF Eric Bruntlett from the Astros.

Over Paid + Youth = Ego and Problems

Over Paid + Youth = Ego and Problems
by: Mike
admin www.nolimitsportsline.com

How can we ruin a young just graduating college senior or for that matter a college player? Lets see we can ruin him by putting him in the spot light, breaking down every thing he has done on and off the field, interview him over and over again, put him in front of camera's and make him speak, or simply make him wear a suit and broadcast a day in life of a new super star. Nah those will not ruin a player or his future those will just make him feel really uncomfortable. We can ruin a player by paying him Millions and Millions of dollars to play in a game that he has never been apart of. I understand the system and how it works but why is this system in place?

Most college graduate are around 22-25 years old while a professional football player is to the lower end of the totem pole do they need $3,162,340.00 in there first season? I think that much money is ridiculous amount of money to be paying Jamarcus Russell in his first season after he held out for X amount of months before he settled on that amount of money don’t you? Jamarcus Russell is getting paid more than Drew Brees, Jeff Garcia, and Tony Romo (before Contract increase) and many other QB's that I have found contracts for. What is the point of this? Hello you have done nothing; we do not even know if you can play in the NFL, you could be another Akili Smith.

The above example is one of many that I have seen in just this past season. Why should we continue to do this to these kids? Giving a kid this much money at that young of an age is and will change there ego for the rest of there lives. I did not do any research on this but most of these kids do not put school first when in college its more of I have to type of thing. After most of these kids leave the NFL they do not have anything saved or have no where else to go or do if they can not get some kind of job with the NFL. Why keep doing this? Oh yeah that’s right to make money.

We use the youth as a breeding ground for our owners to make money. Looking at it like that it is almost (I am not saying it is) like what Mike Vick did with his dogs. Raise them groom them and make money off of them then release them. Just so you can make money. Greed is what this country is about and I really feel that we are hurting these kids in the long run. Why not have contracts set up with incentives?

Incentives would drive the youth of the NFL. Give them X amount of money to have a degree in there field other than football, Give them X amount of money for starting X amount of games, or how about if you do what you are supposed to do we will give you more money. Do not give them 3.1 million because that’s what they want. To me it’s pretty depressing.

Game 3 Break Down

Game 3 Indians and Red Sox
I wanted to do this yesterday but really was a little ok way to tired to do so because of the game sat/sun night. I really did not ever think I would be tired inside a bar ever in my life well what did I know funnier things have happened to me before. I still am getting goosebumps after thinking about the 11th inning today almost 2 days later. If I have this kind of motivation how much can the Indians have after coming off that electric win? We will find out tonight.
At the corner of Ontario and Carnegie Jake Westbrook and the Cleveland Indians will be hosting Dice K and his Boston Red Sox at Jacobs Field. Game time 7pm Eastern time. A very interesting match up will take place Dice K in his last 6 starts he has pitched in 31 innings he has given up 27 earned runs, 39 hits and walked 17 batters going 2-1 while striking out 30. This kid is going to be good but I think the Indians have got him at the right time. I think he has worn down and can be beat. DiceK will be facing Jake Westbrook who can be the most up and down pitcher this side of the earth. If he can keep his pitches down and get the ground outs he looks for this should be a W for the tribe.
Keys To The Game
-------------------------
Red Sox
1. Must win - Yes I really think its a must win for the Red Sox I am not saying that they can not come back if they loose but it will be tuff. Both CC and Fausto will not continue to have bad games.
2. Stay away from the Bullpen - I really think if it gets back into the bullpen they just do not have enough back end to hang with the depth the tribe has.
Indians
1. Ground Ball Outs - You will know at the end of the 2 inning if Jake has it or not if he is going to be off there will be fly ball outs right off the bat.
2. Crowd Participation - Cleveland fans know how to bring the noise and I know that this helps the home team and effects the away team.
I will be watching (taping as well) this game because I have a feeling it could be the best of the series. A must win for both teams but I think as said before I think its more of a must win for the Red Sox. Should be a good one.

From Closer to Starter

From closer to starter, from a batting practice pitcher to an unhittable pitcher, he has come along way. Little really can be said to tell you exactly how good Fausto is but he definitely made a name for himself this season. Interesting how much faith a team can have in a player and stick with him through the bad times.

Did you know the Indians traded Bob Wickman to the Braves because they thought they found there closer of the future in Fausto Carmona? Well that turned into a nightmare when Carmona could not get anyone out while he was in that roll. Before you knew it in 2006 he was demoted to triple A Buffalo to play with the Indians farm team. Indians fans all over the globe were wondering if trading slim Wickman was the correct move quickly after seeing Carmona as he became the biggest gas can in the American league.

After being demoted I guess put some fear or heart into his game because the kid got better. Before the 2007 season started Carmona was still pitching in Buffalo but was doing a decent job as a Starter? Yes the Indians decided well if the kid can not close let’s use him as a spot starter on the Pro team if needed. Quickly the time speed away as Cliff Lee went down with an injury and it was time for Fausto to get his shot. The 23 year old kid decided it was his opportunity to be what the Indians thought he could be. He stepped in and never looked back this season he was one of the most dominant pitchers in all of baseball. Opposing hitters were saying that he had better movement then Santana and probably is the best pitcher in the league.

Fausto started 32 games in 2007 winning 19 of them and only lost 8. Striking out 137 batters in 215 innings and only walking 61 while the opponents batting averaged slipped down to .248. That is .050 down from his 2006 season. During this season he beat Johan Santana twice and after a start Tori Hunter was quoted "I can't wait until we face normal pitchers. This guy's sinker is practically unhittable."

Once he was placed into the starting rotation I was quite worried about him being a starter. After the first few starts I was amazed how the kid turned his career around. Fausto is one of the reasons the tribe has made it this far into the post season. Without the gamble by the Indians coaching staff I am not sure if the Tribe would be about to start a series with the Red Sox.

Lights Out!

The Soon To be MVP

Year 1994 sitting at my first baseball draft with a buddy glancing through our magazine the Commish announces the Cleveland Big Bats are on the clock.

Finally the draft has started and we are four picks away from making our pick. Jeff points to Griffey Jr.
when I told him “he wont be available he had 45 HR’s and 109 RBI’s” he says “I think” a brief interruption as the Cleveland Big Bats make there selection “with the 1st pick in the 1994 inaugural season the Big Bats select Alex Rodriguez Seattle Mariners” I look at Jeff he looks back with one of those raised eyebrows what the f were they thinking looks. Skimming through the magazine I couldn’t fin this Rodriguez guy until I saw the deep sleepers list. He was in the middle of the pack and the magazine said “could be one of the greatest shortstops of all time”. I still thought it was a little early for a rookie shortstop in a dynasty league.

Being intrigued by the selection I just had to keep on track with this guy. His first season with the Mariners was cut short by the MLB strike and his second year he was up and down between the Mariners MLB team and there AAA affiliate. I was beginning to think what I originally thought what was that owner thinking. Until 1996 when Alex broke out by the end of the year he had 36 HR’s and had driven in 136 runs oh yeah he threw in a .358 batting average. This is when the Big Bats pick made me realize that it was a correct one. I began following Alex and becoming a fan he never seemed like a bad guy ever and always had that smile on his face.

Following his career in Seattle was great I bought a hat a cheap kmart jersey you know one of the ones you could make yourself with an iron? He became my favorite player. Every game that I could see with the Mariners I was tuning in. During the 1996 season he was the youngest person in the All Star game, was selected by the Associated Press and Sporting news for the MVP award being the youngest ever to accomplish this. The more and more I watched the more and more I thought this kid was going to be something special and at the same time he was about a year older than me.
Alex was becoming one of the most liked players in baseball. Until he signed one of the craziest deals on the planet going to the Texas Rangers.

This deal was insane a 10 year deal worth $252 Million dollars…. Scratches head. I can not even begin to think how much money that is but it’s a lot. I am not sure at this point fans were falling off the A-Rod train because of this. Let them I said I would have taken the money as well but it just seemed like A-Rod was loosing that smiling face when he was on the field. I still went out and got a Texas hat and a Jersey. Still my favorite player and thinking to me he is turning out to be one of the greatest players to play the game.

A-Rod just kept getting better in Texas though and I still followed him. IN 2003 his final year as a Ranger A-Rod had 345 HR’s and he was 28 years old. Let’s take this in to consideration here.

Barry Bonds – 34 Years Old – 337 HR’s
Willie Mays – 33 Years Old – 366 HR’s
Alex Rodriquez – 32 Years Old – 345 HR’s

Is it not amazing to you that A-Rod is on Pace to take both of these guys out at the end of his career? Its funny how Yankees fans can boo this guy for not having a perfect season, they are witnessing probably the best player to play the game right in front of them.
Although since A-Rod signed with the Yankees to me it’s just not the same. I am not sure if it is my hate of the Yankees or what it is, just does not seem the same seeing him hit HR’s in pin stripes.

After looking deeper into A-Rod and his career there are just some things that just blow my mind about this player. He is 830 hits away from 3000 will join 27 other players to do this. He has 250 stolen bases out of the top 5 HR hitters in baseball there are only 2 players that are over 250. His award case is rather large as well.

And to top all of this off the guy is never in trouble off the field.

My hate towards the Yankees is never going to go away and I will accept that but I think I am going to continue to follow A-Rod like I used to. We are witnessing one of the greatest players to ever play the game and one that you never hear in trouble off the field. I will be proud to say to my grandkids that I got to see Alex Rodriguez the HR champion and all around good player play the game.

All In Plays Week no.4

Oakland +4 @ Miami

Well you beat Cleveland and you become a favorite or is Miami really this bad? Miami is this bad how can Ronnie Brown have the day he had and they loose?

Miami –vs- Culpepper, Culpepper –vs- Miami ooooooo no drama? Nah Miami never wanted Culpepper to play for them. Bwhahahaha Trent Green is now starting for the phins and no sign of a backup QB yet? How many catches does the punt returner have……..

This one is going to be a boring one but I see Oakland taking this one from Miami

Houston -3 @ Atlanta
Wow has Houston improved and Atlanta has got really bad. Did you know last week Denagelo Hall shaved I am a moron in his head and then got flagged for 67 yards on one opposing teams drive? Are you kidding me that’s more coverage then Britney spears waste band.

Houston has been looking a lot better but the injuries lining up with Ahman and AJ I think the Falcons have a chance to loose this game. Yeah I really think ATL can go defeated for the season.

Take Houston minus the points.

Baltimore -4.5 @ Cleveland

Joe Montana aka Derrick Anderson did not show up last week in Oakland but will he show up this week against the Ravens? I think so if Winslow was healthy and a guaranteed play I take the Browns in a possible straight up win. Without K2 I really need to take the points.

Oh stop yelling at me the Browns will be prepared for the run this week and Boller/Mcnair can only be so good. But but but Miek what about the ravens defense? What about it they are missing some pieces and I think DA will be able to throw.

Take the Browns and the Points

Chicago -3 @ Detroit

Hmmm a very interesting game here. Um Rexy is on the bench a starting QB gone bad being replaced by the golden boy. Ok lets not get out of control here its Brian Griese. Can Benson run? I really thought he could and just not seeing enough yet.

How about another shocker (no not that shocker fletch) Detroit Wins just because I do not think they can cover the pass well enough.

Green Bay -2 @ Minnesota

Hello why are the Packer only favored by 2 I mean they now have the leading errr tied TD completion guy in the league the spread should be at least 16? Note to lines makes you loose a lot of money last week??? Lol

This could end up being the best game of the week. Minnesota Wins this one though. Favre loves the domes

St.Louis +13.5 @ Dallas

Oh my SJ must not have got his mail….. Bulger is hurt…….

Take Dallas all the way.

NY Jets -3.5 @ Buffalo

Will there be a game this season when the Bills are favored? Yeah probably not but what sucks even worse is all the guys looking for experience on this team are out for the year. Sad stuff going on in Buffalo this year but it looks like Everett is going to be alright.

Marshawn Lynch is good and the Jets win in a divisional non shoot out.

Tampa Bay +3 @ Carolina

It does not matter who starts this game for the Panthers they will win. TB I did not think they could win 2 in a row all year enough is enough. They are going down this week like the titanic.

Carolina wins give the points

Seattle -2 @ SF

Is SF good or are they bad? Well at least they used Vernon Davis til he got injured. Way to use your talents there coach.

Seattle rolls up SF by 12.

Pittsburgh +6 @ Arizona

Ugh trapper game right here. I really do not like this game at all and I think it will be a really close game. Should be a good game higher scoring and I see the steelers pulling it out at the end but will not cover the spread.

Kansas City +12 @ San Diego

If LT does not show up for this game cut him now…. Ok do not do that but he should put up 100 yards and get in the zone 2-3 times. Right back to form in this one because I am playing against him in 2 leagues.

SD runs this one through the roof.

Denver +9.5 @ Indy

Sorry but Indy is really good and Cutler has not stepped up to the plate enough to win the big games. The only way Denver gets this one is if Indy Is not up for the game.

Indy wins by 14

Philly -2.5 @ NY Giants

What Mcnabb sucks? The only game I saw was last weeks and he looked pretty damn good. Maybe I am wrong though? Well judging by week 1 & 2 no one expected Mcnabb to light up the score board. I think he is comfortable now and is going to continue to roll and keep winning.

Philly wins by 7

Buzz AKA Satan

Well it turns out that black cats are what they say they are!!

What a cute little kitten you are always wanting attention never could be left alone and if you were well then you were pissed. Let me list his criminal activity and warrants against this little guy.

Criminal Acts
-------------------
1. Causing older cat troubles. Making owner provide a separate room for the older cat during the day because would not allow older cat to use the facilities when needed.

Sources say: that whenever older cat had to do its business, Satan would attack making older cat do its business all over the apartment.

2. After moving older cat to its own room when owners were not home Satan decided it would be fun to dig out the entire litter box daily and leaving it all over the floor.

Sources say: We saw Satan building castles all over the apartment.

3. Castle building was not enough for Satan as he successfully succeed in pulling down drapery and blinds during the day.

Sources say: we saw Satan peeking his head out through the windows with the drapes hanging from his mouth.

4. Satan had everything he had his castles that he built and now all the natural light he needed but the attention was not enough for him. Satan was charged with knocking 3 $75-$100 Disney snow globes from heights above 6'-0"

Sources say: We saw him climbing up the drapes (yes they were open) to get on top of the entertainment center, winding up the globes, doing a little kitty dance, when song was over would push the globe off the edge to its death making room for more Michael Jackson moves. Another source says: The cat was doing the moon walk on its back legs.

5. Arson, setting apartment on fire while owners and child were asleep.

Sources say: While sleeping could not breathe and noticed a flashing light coming from the kitchen. While approaching the kitchen holding his breathe noticed flames touching the ceiling coming from the stove. After putting out the fire and investigating the situation. The story on folded. Cat turned on old style electric stove jumped on top of the refrigerator and knocked the disposable camera on top of the burner that Satan turned on.

Satan has been taken to a home, yes a mental home where he is being observed on a daily basis by the animal society.

Introduction!!

What is a blog? Do you know? Hell everyone seems to know and everyone has been doing it so I figured why the hell not get one. Well yeah but where do I go from here? I have no idea either. So I am going to try it out.

Some of you may know me from nolimitsportsline.com and some of you probably do not but I am known at NLS as the great grammar wizard. Members come to me looking for advice, critques, spelling corrections, grammar corrections, and much more. Some call me the human theasourus (is that spelled right?) not sure but I have also been told that people pass up using dictionary.com because its much easier to come to me for a spelling correction. Ok actually no one has never asked me for any of this information. I know I need work and I know I can get better but if you like a guy that comes across real and makes some fun out of it you have come to the right blog.
